Use the screws from your old switch plate cover to hang up your new one. If they seem to shiny or bright to you, tone them down with a little black sharpie marker applied to the screw head. We won't spill the beans on your secret.
This switch plate cover has been clear-coated, but if it is exposed to the elements, you may want to use a little spray-on enamel about once a year to keep it looking glossy and fresh.
Each unique fair trade metal sculpture is hand- cut from recycled 55- gallon steel drums. To begin the process, both ends of the drum are removed and placed inside of the remaining cylinder, along with scrap paper and dried banana or sugar cane leaves. Next, the contents are set ablaze to burn off any paint or residue and strengthen the metal. When cooled, the drums are sliced down the side and flattened, effectively creating a "steel canvas" of approximately 5' x 9.5', upon which the design is drawn. Using a hammer, chisel and various other primitive tools, the desired image is cut out and decorative patterns are pounded into the metal. Finally, a weather-proof finish coating is applied, making these fascinating pieces of folk art perfect for displaying indoors or outdoors.

Lovely switchplate cover. Works well with my stainless steel appliances and cabinet hardware. I used all different cabinet pulls from Emanee hardware, and this tied it altogether.Wish they made plain ones to complement it.I ordered complementing ones from a different Etsy vendor,but it was challenging to match the finish.Also wish screws were included,as it is difficult to match the screw finish with machinescrews at the right depth.
