The art of converting oil drums into artwork is a true mark of imagination and resourcefulness in the face of dire economic circumstances. Recycling 55 gallon oil drums, the artists sterilize the drums, slice them down one side, then pound them into 4' x 6' metal "canvases." They draw their intended designs with chalk onto the metal sheet. With hammers and chisels they cut, shape, and contour the piece to completion.
