To begin the process of metal art sculpture, the artist first visualizes his design, often taking inspiration from his culture and natural surroundings. Next, he chalks his vision for the piece onto a 55-gallon drum that has been cleaned and pounded flat. Then, using only a hammer and chisel, he performs the heavy work giving his piece form and dimension. The result is a unique folk art sculpture, perfect for home or garden use.

"Milagros" is the Spanish word for "miracles." Milagros are small metal charms that come in a wide variety of shapes. Traditionally, these charms were used in Latin America and some European countries as religious petitions to saints and deities, somewhat like lighting a votive candles at a church altar. People pin individual milagros to the fabric draped over the statue of a saint or sometimes set them out in a shrine. Made to resemble milagro charms, these tiny sculptures are wonderful to hang on a wall or with a collection, slip into a card, or tie onto a package.
